SMART LIVING HAWAII

HOUSING

The cost of living and building in Hawaii is expensive and goes up every year.  We also live on an island chain with limited space for ample expansion.  Therefore, we need to utilize our land efficiently, consolidate where we can and preserve what's left.  This requires planning, working together and real change from people committed to Hawaii’s future.

The City and County of Honolulu has put together Oahu’s Resiliency Strategy (2019) and the first Pillar mentioned was focused on an Affordable Hawaii.  This was referring to housing and it being the first pillar to tackle.  The first two goals focus on supporting affordable housing development and reducing additional cost burdens.  Should this be a top priority in the near future, we will see real change and progression for the local residents of Hawaii.
